If one has been fortunate enough to have lived in a small coastal Maine community, such as Deer Isle, one can easily understand the desire to make poetry, to paint and to respond creatively to its aesthetic and evocative qualities. Her poetry expresses a mood, a memory or direct observation with a desire to share it with others. Many of the poems have been published in a small Maine newspaper where readers often each out with expressions of their relevance and with understanding.
